Woes of an International Fashionista

I can't stop talking about it, but this trip to see Trip (te he... that never gets old!) has got me completely wired and is literally the only thing getting me through these last few days of school and crazy nights of working retail pre-holiday.  I got home from work early tonight and was able to spend some time packing, and let me tell you: I am IMPRESSED with my ability to cram two weeks worth of clothes into half a suitcase.  You see, the other half of my suitcase is filled with Trip's Christmas and Birthday gifts.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things, this really isn't so bad because unless he bought me half a suitcase worth of presents, it means that I've got a ton of room to fill with souvenirs while I'm gone!

Now, I tend to travel pretty frequently and consider myself to be a pretty good packer, but I really outdid myself for this trip.  I had a day off a few weeks ago and my mommy had just gotten me an iPad for my Birthday/graduation/Christmas and I was just messing around with it and decided to lay out outfits, photograph them, and then mix and match as needed.  In the couple of free hours I had tonight, it was lovely to just glance at the photo, grab stuff from the closet, and roll it up in my suitcase.

I ended up with:
4 pairs of pants
1 pair of leggings
3 dresses
1 skirt
7 tops
6 coverups
3 pairs of boots

... and I have figured out how to mix and match them so that I wear a different-looking outfit every single day for 2 whole weeks!  We'll see how it goes!

I have no clue how I got ALL of that into half of a suitcase, but hey... I was praying for a small miracle.  Looks like I got it!

  1. I'm super impressed with that packing!! I am such a indecisive person that I can not plan out an outfit ahead of time, so I tend to Way over pack. I need to get better at it.

    1. I don't know how I managed it! I think having planned things out and seen how I could mix everything together helped... that, and I know I will be able to do laundry if I need to!

    1. Literally, a Christmas miracle. But now that I got everything in, I have started feeling like I'm missing things and it no longer looks quite so nice and neat!

  3. Oh man I hate packing and am pretty horrible at it! I always love seeing how other people do it. It makes me feel like perhaps one day I might be able to be better. Haha!

  4. I'm super impressed by how much clothes you fitted into only half a suitcase! I don't think I'll EVER be able to do that, haha :) hope you have an amazing trip and I agree with Caroline - a how to pack post would be a fabulous idea! :)

    Merry Christmas!

  5. travelling light is a very valuable skill - especially when you can create lots of great outfits with the contents of the suitcase (rather than plain ol' boring ones).
