Today... well... was a ridiculously unlucky day. I actually woke up early and was all excited about actually having time to sit down (!!!) and eat breakfast in a place that was not a moving vehicle. Well, I suppose I really shouldn't ever break out of my normal routine, because my first foot out of bed was rewarded with a sewing needle directly into the bottom of my heel!
I was finishing some projects for my etsy/Facebook shop last night and a needle must have fallen out of the package and onto the floor and just so happened to find a home in my foot! I'll spare you the gory details, but tell you that having white carpet was a curse this morning and that I kind of wanted crutches all day. I also had to help a room full of squeamish students dissect frogs. Turns out I was more squeamish than any of them, because I had to leave the room a few times!
... THEN, in an attempt to put the whole puncture-slice-chop sort of day behind me, I thought I'd head down to my most favourite spot to take photos ever. These railroad tracks line the property of an old mansion in town and I love that they seem so secluded, but are actually quite close to civilization. After I got over the epic fear of the possibility of ticks roaming the tall grasses, I had to sprint through to get to this spot and set up my tripod. I got a few snaps recorded and then heard sirens. Yep. It was the police. The po-po. The 5-0. The fuzz.
... apparently, harmlessly taking photos on a bunch of rusty pipes next to some railroad tracks is considered "trespassing" and I was directed to leave immediately. I only got these 5 snaps in my super fun vintage tunic and brand new headpiece. Here's hoping that tomorrow is a bit less dangerous!
... on a side note, I am having a craft sale via etsy/Facebook. Get 15% off your order with code "ForLove." All of my current inventory is uploaded on the Facebook page, so if there is something you like, leave a comment and we will figure it out. I'm lazy when it comes to etsy, but everything MUST GO... for reasons that you shall hear about when I make my big announcement next week!
