An "Epic" affair...

Monday, June 17, 2013

About a month ago, I randomly entered one of IFB's weekly contests after never having entered one ever before.  The contest was in conjunction with the new animated movie, Epic, and the challenge was to wear a nature-inspired outfit, so I put together my "Crossing bridges..." post, sent it in, and promptly forgot about it.

Imagine my surprise when I received an e-mail a few weeks later informing me that I had won!  I won a screening party of the movie, an original sketch of the Chris Benz dress that was adapted for the film, and a feature on the Epic Facebook page!  To make it even better, my friend, Jenni, owns a special-order dessert company and catered the party!

What fun!  I wish you all could have come!

... and a special thanks to Skyline Sweets for making us the most epic (te he... see what I did there?) cake pops I've ever had the pleasure of consuming!  Seriously!  They were chocolate cake with green buttercream decorations to match the theme of the movie!  Be sure to "Like" their Facebook page!

    1. Thank you! The best was when we went out to dinner after the screening and I asked the bartender to make me a drink that matched my skirt. He took a look at all the colours and whipped me up something that genuinely matched!

  29. That skirt is gorgeous! Hope to make a skirt like that in the near future :) what fabric is it? It looks a bit like satin?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is actually (and I'm ashamed to admit this) polyester, but it is the shiny type, so it looks like satin. It was super easy to make, so I encourage you to try and make one of your own!
