Ponder that for a few moments. Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow. That quote was from Anita Desai.
Think back to a journey.
Remember how it felt. How it looked. How it smelled. How it tasted.
Think about how you changed when this journey ended.
I try to do this at the end of every journey I take and I've found that it has helped to make me into what I like to think of as a global citizen.
Italy has a way of getting under my skin… and not just because I stuff myself silly with pasta. It's something about the waves, the crumbly buildings, the "ciaos" and "grazies" that just shakes my soul. I have almost nothing that roots me to Italy (no family, no heritage, etc.) but in the 3 trips I've made to Italy in the last 12 months, I've become firmly rooted to the country. And I love it.
